The new mayoress of Valencia, María José Catalá, signed on Sunday – just one day after her inauguration – a first decree to delegate the signature and powers to her councilors with the aim of being able to activate the management and “launch from this very moment electoral commitments on Monday”, they have reported from the Valencian consistory.

The popular leader has divided the City Council into seven large areas to which she has provisionally assigned a councilor. However, in some of the areas this person in charge will not be only because he will have the support of other councilors (the PP obtained 14 councilors on 28-M) forming a working group until the mayoress finally distributes the delegations.

And it is that in parallel the mayoress has already “begun to work on structuring the areas and delegations in the most appropriate way to meet municipal needs.”

The seven large blocks that I manage are Treasury and Participation; Human and Technical Resources; Urbanism and Housing; Environment; Economy and Large Projects; Social Welfare and Culture; and Mobility and Citizen Security.

With this, they explained in a statement, it is intended to give an immediate boost to the management and become aware of the current state of the needs of the different management services so as not to delay any action while the government is being structured.

In the decree of the delegation of the firm in its councilors, the new mayoress of Valencia states that “while proceeding to structure the areas and delegations in the most appropriate way to meet municipal needs and promote municipal government policies, it is essential to avoid any minimum delay or paralysis of the administrative procedures, for which reason it is appropriate to attribute to each municipal service a councilor responsible for signing the matters that, due to the matters and activities of their competence, concern each one.

Likewise, the decree states that the first deputy mayor will be María José Ferrer San Segundo; the second, Julia Climent; and the third deputy mayor will be Juan Giner. All of them, members of the municipal group that accompanied Catalá the previous legislature.
