The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, expressed this Monday his willingness to look for “meeting points” and “dialogue” in Catalonia – the main client of the Valencian Community “and good clients must be taken care of” -. Mazón has opted for a “positive” reflection to see how it begins to be built among constitutionalists. “We have to do it with generosity,” said the Valencian president when asked about the result of the Catalan elections of 12-M.
Mazón did not want to go into questions of electoral arithmetic or what position his party should have in view of the investiture of the next Catalan president. However, he did want to regret that Pedro Sánchez was the one who “pushed Puigdemont the most.”
However, the leader of the PP has reiterated that Sunday’s result has made it clear that “the process of the process is not the good one.” And he has once again stressed the need to support dialogue and the Constitution.
Mazón is not the only one who has given his opinion on the electoral result in Catalonia. Both PSPV, PP and Vox have considered the numbers of their parties to be good and positive, and the opposition has hinted that a hypothetical PSC government could be an “opportunity to open the financing melon.”
The Ombudsman of the PSPV, José Muñoz, has indicated that a “new stage” is opening in which Catalonia can be an “ally of the Valencian Community”, since they have “common interests” in aspects such as addressing the regional financing system. Muñoz has stressed that 12-M “endorses the policies of reconciliation and coexistence of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.”
In a similar vein, Baldoví (Compromís) has reiterated the idea that the result “can favor opening the melon of the financing system once and for all”, something that “interests many territories and absolutely diverse parties.”
Meanwhile, Vox has highlighted that its numbers (it remains with the same deputies but grows in votes) consolidates its discourse despite the campaigns that have been carried out against it and the most ominous forecasts.
