The provincial executive has approved this Wednesday the list of candidates for the Valencia constituency for the general elections of 23-J. However, this candidacy, approved unanimously in the provincial body, does not have the approval of the party leadership that ensures that proposal tomorrow, in the country leadership, “it will be changed.” Something that, from the environment of the provincial president, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, assure that it cannot be given since he has no powers and that only Ferraz can modify. Not even two weeks ago they lost the elections and the war has already started in the PSPV.
The main surprise on the provincial list is the inclusion in a starting position of the PSPV spokesperson in the Diputación and former mayoress of Anna, Pilar Sarrión, a person close to Bielsa.
There have been no surprises with the first two names proposed by the provincial executive. The Minister of Science, Diana Morant, would head the list, and the former PSOE Organization Secretary José Luis Ãbalos would return to the political front line wanting to wage war. Both appointments are endorsed by Ferraz’s management. After the third place of Pilar Sarrión would be the already national deputy, Vicent Sarrià , a person of the highest confidence of Ximo Puig. The acting president of the Generalitat had already expressed his intention to lead the opposition after growing in deputies and support but losing the Consell. Fifth place would go to the regional Treasury Secretary (also acting), Mako Mira, who was one of Puig’s signings for the regional lists that ended up giving rise to the first Botà nic.
The other great surprise of the provincial proposal has been the list of candidates for the Senate. The intentions of the PSPV leader to place the president of the Valencia Port Authority, Joan Calabuig (whose mandate the PP will count shortly) had leaked. However, the most relevant position on the list will go to the mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, a leader endorsed by a new absolute majority and with the complete confidence of Bielsa. Sagredo is followed by the historic Cristina Moreno and Mario Sánchez, acting mayor of Requena.
