“Ciudadanos has been the only party capable of winning nationalism at the polls”, Inés Arrimadas proclaimed this morning in Barcelona to demand the vote next Sunday for her formation, which, as she has defended, “broke the molds and the mantras” politicians since its irruption in Catalonia in 2006 to later make the leap to all of Spain.

After thanking the candidate in Barcelona, Anna Grau, for her “courage” in representing the party in the place “where it all began”, Arrimadas pointed out that after making “the dream of breaking the glass vault of nationalism” come true in the 2017, when Ciudadanos was the force with the most votes in Parliament, the formation project is still in force, whose demands he believes are “more necessary than ever”.

In this sense, the parliamentary spokesperson has referred to the request of the ex-minister Dolors Bassa (ERC) to “ban Spanish on TV3” in a recent tweet to underline her arguments, in which she has charged both against the Socialists and against the popular for having “supported” separatism by having accepted it, from their point of view, as a “valid interlocutor” in their respective governments.

In addition, Arrimadas has charged against the PP of Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Daniel Sirera, the popular candidate in Barcelona, for supporting, in his opinion, the nationalist approaches when speaking of the Catalan “differential fact” and the “plurinationality of the State”, as Some popular leaders have recently done -the last of them, Miguel Tellado-.

“Feijóo’s PP continues to be the PP of Mariano Rajoy and José María Aznar, who delivered Catalonia to nationalism,” said Arrimadas, surrounded by the senior staff of Ciudadanos in this community, with Carlos Carrizosa at the forefront, in the Plaza Universitat de Barcelona. Although she has added, however, that the “greatest fault” lies with the PSOE.

In front of them, the former president of Ciudadanos has indicated that her formation is “the only one that does not surrender” to nationalism and has accused, on the other hand, the “bipartisanship” of PP and PSOE of “being capable of stealing money and votes”. , in addition to holding them responsible for the “turncoat” that their party has suffered in recent years, with a notable transfer of positions and militants, especially to the popular ranks.

To reinforce his call to vote for the orange candidacies on Sunday, Arrimadas recalled “the power of an envelope”, in reference to “the bonuses and bribes” that have plagued the PP but also to the alleged “buying of votes” in which the PSOE has been implicated, and has opposed it to the possibility of “changing the future” if the polls are filled with Ciudadanos ballots, for which he has asked the “moderate, center and center” voters to make an “effort” liberals”.

The last visit of Arrimadas to Catalonia, in which he wrapped Dimas Gragera in the presentation of his candidacy in Santa Coloma de Gramenet and walked dressed in faralaes next to Grau for the April Fair in Barcelona, heralded that he would have a very featured in the Ciudadanos electoral campaign in the municipal elections, but that was at the end of last month and she had not yet returned.

Although her absence these days in Catalonia, where her brilliant political career began, has been striking, the party has been able to count on her for the final stretch, in which, as Grau announced by surprise yesterday Thursday, Arrimadas is going to contribute to “ give a little push” and “a boost of morale” to training, which is at a very low point throughout Spain. “I ask for a vote of confidence and hope to get out of the black tunnel in which Barcelona is located,” the mayor of the Catalan capital said this Friday.

After his lightning visit to Barcelona, Arrimadas, who has moved his home to Jerez de la Frontera and has not yet revealed whether he will run to lead the Ciudadanos candidacy in the general elections, will travel to Madrid to participate together with the national spokesperson, Patricia Guasp , who is, in turn, an autonomous candidate in the Balearic Islands, and the general secretary, Adrián Vázquez, at the closing ceremony of the campaign, in which they will support the candidates for mayor of the capital, Begoña Villacís, and for the presidency of the Community, Aruca Gomez.
