The Municipal Police of Madrid have arrested the taxi driver who tested positive for cocaine after running over a 45-year-old man who was doing sports on Thursday morning in the Chamberí district, police sources have informed Efe.
The victim was running when he was run over by the taxi driver at the intersection between Bravo Murillo and José Abascal streets, which caused severe head trauma.
The Samur-Civil Protection paramedics went to the scene, stabilized him and transferred him with a serious prognosis to a hospital center, according to Emergencies Madrid.
The municipal agents also went to the scene of the incident to carry out the report and, after carrying out the corresponding alcohol and drug tests on the driver, and obtaining a positive result for cocaine, they proceeded to arrest the taxi driver as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of injuries and driving under narcotic substances.
The facts continue to be investigated by agents of the Judicial Traffic Police.
