CLEVELAND, Ohio – This weekend will be March, and while it’s an early forecast, skies are looking sunny.

Friday, some light snow showers will continue on-and-off, mostly in the morning, with what looks like near zero accumulation.

However, Saturday and Sunday, high pressure will build in, drying skies out leading to some sun.

Temperature wise, Friday and Saturday will remain on the cooler side; a bit of a warm-up is ahead for Sunday.

The How

A low pressure system over Ohio will trigger some light snow showers on Friday, which will be strengthened and developed further by Lake Erie. As clouds move across the lake, lots of moisture is supplied, growing them larger and larger until flakes are large enough to fall.

Since winds are west-northwest, this will blow those snow-producing clouds right into the usual snow belt.

Saturday, some lingering moisture could spark some snow flurries, but a high pressure system will suppress these chances to very slight. For the most part, through Sunday, skies will stay just partly cloudy.
