10 Ohio companies granted job-creation tax credits: Brooklyn, Medina make the list

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio approved tax credits Monday for 10 projects expected to create 726 jobs, including 240 jobs at a Brooklyn company. 

The projects are expected to result in $66 million in new investment and add $35 million in new payroll statewide. 

JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development arm, and regional economic organizations recommended the projects to the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, which approved the projects at its Monday meeting.  

The credits are performance based and can only be used as the jobs are actually created.    

Here’s a breakdown of the projects by region.

Northeast Ohio 

Inogen Inc., Brooklyn: The company expects to create 240 full-time jobs, generating $12 million a year in new payroll. The company, which manufactures portable oxygen concentrators, was granted a 1.688-percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 

Carlisle Brake & Friction Inc., Medina: The company expects to create 70 full-time jobs, generating $3 million a year in new payroll while retaining $11 million in existing payroll. Carlisle, which provides high-performance and severe duty brake, clutch, and transmission applications to the mining, construction, military, agricultural, motorsports, industrial and aerospace markets, received a 1.508-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 

Central Ohio

Denso International America Inc., Dublin: The company expects to create 13 full-time jobs, generating $1.3 million a year in new payroll and retaining $3.2 million in existing payroll. Denso, which supplies advanced technology and components to the automotive industry, was granted a 1.924-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 
  
Sarnova HC LLC,  Dublin: The company expects to create 29 full-time jobs, generating $1.6 million a year in new payroll and retaining $13.2 million in existing payroll. Sarnova distributes medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and supplies for EMS workers. It received a 1.302-percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit.

Georgia TSS Inc. (Total System Services Inc.), Columbus: The company expects to create 145 full-time jobs, generating $5.6 million a year in new payroll. The credit and debit card payment company was granted a 1.327-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 

Southwest Ohio 

Pretzel Baron LLC, Springdale: The company expects to create 49 full-time jobs, generating $1.2 million a year in new payroll and retaining $264,033 in existing payroll. The pretzel baking company received a 1.048-percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 

Aero Fulfillment Services Corporation, West Chester Township: The company expects to create 65 full-time jobs, generating $2.6 million a year in new payroll and retaining $7.3 million in existing payroll. The company received a 1.2-percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit.  

NSC Global Managed Services LLC, Deerfield Township: The company expects to create 50 full-time jobs, generating $2.5 million a year in new payroll and retaining $12.3 million in existing payroll. The IT services company was awarded a 2.13-percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 

Western Ohio 

Wayne Trail Technologies, Fort LoramieThe company expects to create 50 full-time jobs, generating $3.8 million a year in new payroll and retaining $13 million in existing payroll. The manufacturing company was awarded a 1.419-percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit. 

To be determined 

Insight Catastrophe Group LLC (Location TBD): The company expects to create 15 full-time jobs, generating $1.5 million a year in new payroll and retaining $38,961 in existing payroll. The risk management company received a 1.968-percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit.
