The center owned by ILERNA, the leading professional training institution in the sector, in the city of Lleida was visited this morning by Salvador Illa, first secretary of the PSC, and Meritxell Batet, president of the Congress and head of the list of the PSC at the Congress by Barcelona They were accompanied by Montse Mínguez, deputy and candidate for Congress for Lleida and Félix Larrosa, mayor of Lleida.
During the event, Jordi Giné, CEO of ILERNA, highlighted the importance of vocational training in a changing and competitive world, as well as the need to adapt to the demands of the labor market: “There are forecasts that indicate that in the coming years They will register more than two million job opportunities for FP graduates throughout Spain and we are here to provide the training that the current labor market demands”. Adding that ILERNA plays a fundamental role since it forms the talent that companies demand today.
In response, Meritxell Batet has pointed out how interesting it is to get to know the ILERNA project first-hand, directing her congratulations to the founders of ILERNA, Jordi Giné and Virginia Agelet, for the Group’s capacity for growth and expansion. “ILERNA is a benchmark not only for Lleida, but also for Catalonia and all of Spain, and with a vision of internationalization. The constant training of citizens is a priority, and I want to emphasize that the FP keeps all the qualifications updated according to the needs of the market. You must bet on vocational training and the public-private connection”, Batet pointed out, adding that “to dignify all the people who approach vocational training, a training that offers much-needed tasks for society. It is necessary to develop the FP Law”.
For his part, Salvador Illa stated “at ILERNA you have done a very good job in the field of vocational training, this company is an example of adaptation and evolution to changing times. Also expansion beyond Lleida. We have been able to learn about the face-to-face success and the online success of the center. We want to generate prosperity, promote and accompany these companies, in this case professional training. It is a very interesting project at the level of Lleida, but also at the level of Catalonia.”
ILERNA was born in Lleida as a result of the merger of two large centers in the city: Academia Técnica and Les Heures. Today, among its achievements, it counts having trained more than 100,000 people and being leaders in Spain in distance professional training. In its facet of face-to-face training, the group is in full expansion with nine offices throughout the Iberian Peninsula, the most recent being Valladolid, which will open its doors in the current academic year 2023-24.
