Basque football is mourning the death of Urko Pikabea, a 12-year-old boy who died this Tuesday in Orio (Guipúzcoa) suddenly at his home just before going to his team’s training session, according to El Diario Vasco.

After hearing the news, the Txurdin club has suspended the sporting event and has conveyed its most sincere condolences to his family and friends. “We join in the pain over the death of Urko Pikabea, a child of Orioko. It is not the only tragic case that has happened in recent months. In November, Unax García Legaristi, a 15-year-old player for CD Urki, also died suddenly in Eibar when he was at his home, according to this media outlet.
