There are professions that, in addition to a bachelor’s degree, require a master’s degree to be able to practice them. These are the so-called regulated professional activities. In Spain there are professions in which it is necessary to have a qualifying master’s degree to practice them regularly in any member state of the European Union.
All qualifying master’s degrees must be official training and include a professional internship period. The minimum training between the bachelor’s degree and the master’s degree is 300 credits, which are normally distributed between 240 credits for the bachelor’s degree and 60 for the master’s. As an exception, the profession of architect must have 300 credits in the degree and 60 in the master’s degree. The title must be issued by a competent authority of an EU member state, and must certify that the holder has completed a cycle of post-secondary studies of a minimum duration of three years or part-time equivalent. The graduate must also demonstrate that he possesses the professional qualifications required to access a regulated profession.
Lawyer
