Imagine our high school students in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, involved in sustainable projects that transform communities. The Tanzania Seeway Expedition, more than a trip, is a transformative experience aligned with our commitment to emotional and values education. Our partnership with Nord Anglia Education has allowed us to collaborate with local organizations in Tanzania, actively participating in community projects, connecting with students from around the world and learning from both peers and local natives.
Imagine being selected to visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. A dream come true for 50 students from 31 Nord Anglia schools around the world. By participating in conferences, workshops and practical experiences, our students have immersed themselves in the realms of innovation and design. They haven’t just paid a visit; They have participated in high-speed imaging, tours of nuclear reactors and even a simulation of the UN Climate Change Summit.
A highlight has consisted of joint work in which students have created and prototyped ecological toys, symbolizing our partnership with MIT and highlighting the importance of STEAM education for the formation of versatile and successful people. Two skills have stood out: creativity and collaboration. Solving complex problems, like exploring the Mariana Trench with robots, requires creative thinking. Collaboration has been the backbone that has enabled the convergence of diverse skills to solve multifaceted challenges.
The North Anglia-UNICEF Summit brings together students from Hamelin-Laie and other NAE schools every year, promoting a change of vision by incorporating the SDGs into educational structures. This is a call to action, empowering our students to lead change within their own communities.
Last July’s summit in New York was a dynamic hub of diverse ideas and cultures, transcending conventional learning and focusing on developing leadership skills, empowering our students to lead initiatives with purpose and confidence.
