A 38-year-old man who had an international arrest warrant by the French justice has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Llíria, Valencia, accused of the crimes of falsifying a public document, robbery with force and illegal possession of weapons, as well as for attempting to ram an officer while trying to stop him.
The detainee, who committed crimes in Spain and France, was aware that the authorities were looking for him and had chosen a house in the Camp de Túria region to hide, the armed institute reported.
Thus, from his home, surrounded by agricultural fields, he could control approaching vehicles and people, which meant that the researchers designed a device that would not arouse his suspicions.
The man had a violent criminal history and had a firearm, which made the agents assess the need for his arrest in a surprise manner to prevent him from causing harm to third parties.
Finally, at the end of last June, the agents set up a special device on an interurban road that intercepted the high-capacity motorcycle he was driving. After being stopped by the agents, the man rammed his motorcycle into one of the civil guards who stopped him, although the agent managed to dodge him and the vehicle hit an official car.
At that moment, he began to flee on foot through the agricultural fields, although the Civil Guard agents managed to intercept him and found that he was carrying a forged Italian identity card. Later, a search of the home was carried out, where a shotgun, ammunition, various toxic drugs and other forged identity documents were found.
