A three-year-old boy has died in the Pontevedra municipality of O Porriño after spending several hours forgotten inside a vehicle parked in a dirt parking lot in A Relva, in the Torneiros parish, on one day sun and high temperatures.

An individual raised the alarm at 112 around 4:50 p.m. requesting health care for a child, for which the notice was given to the Health Emergencies, agents of the Civil Guard and the Local Police of O Porriño and the members of the Psychological Intervention Group in Catastrophes and Emergencies, dependent on the Official College of Psychology of Galicia.

However, the medical services dispatched by 061 could only confirm the death of the child, who was inside the car. The Civil Guard confirms the death of the minor and indicates that, in the absence of an autopsy, death could have been due to heat stroke, although the appropriate investigation has been opened.

Sources consulted by Europa Press explain that apparently, the child’s mother would have been confused and went to her job without leaving the child in the center where they had to take care of him. When the father came in the afternoon to look for the little one in the center, the alarms went off.

The O Porriño City Council, where they are neighbors, has conveyed its condolences and has made available to the family the means they may need.
