An 83-year-old woman died last Sunday night in the Cáceres town of Holguera, allegedly at the hands of her 46-year-old son.
The Civil Guard has reported that the son had “diagnosed mental problems” and has confirmed that he is detained, according to local media reports.
The events occurred around 10:25 p.m. this past Sunday when calls were received from several local residents alerting them to the event, the Civil Guard reported.
A team from the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard is carrying out proceedings for an alleged crime of intentional homicide and the Court of First Instance and Investigation acting as Guard (No. 2) of Coria is dealing with the case.
