Bahamian rescue teams are searching this Wednesday for a 47-year-old German tourist who disappeared in the sea off West End, on the island of Grand Bahama, after being attacked by a shark.
The woman was the victim of the attack when she was participating in a diving excursion the day before in the Tiger Beach area, according to Bahamian media.
According to witnesses, the tourist briefly surfaced after the attack, but submerged again and has not been seen since. So far, she has only recovered her diving equipment.
Every year misfortunes of this type occur in Bahamas waters. In September last year, a 58-year-old American tourist died after being attacked by a shark while snorkeling.
