The Civil Guard is investigating the homicide of a 31-year-old man who died tonight from gunshot wounds in the Valencian municipality of Benetússer.

According to Civil Guard sources, the homicide occurred this Wednesday and an autopsy on the victim, a Spanish national, is pending at the Institute of Legal Medicine.

The Catarroja court investigating the case has declared the proceedings secret, the sources have indicated.

According to Levante-EMV, the event occurred around 9 p.m. on Wednesday on Párroco Eduardo Ballester Street, on the corner of Palleter Street, in the Valencian municipality and the man was shot dead with two shots, apparently fired from behind.

The newspaper also indicates that the first signs point to a possible settling of scores for a drug debt.
