A 19-year-old girl died this Wednesday after being run over at the level crossing of the Alfafar station (Valencia) by a Cercanías train that was making the journey from Valencia to Gandia and circulation on both tracks has been interrupted.

The event occurred minutes before nine in the morning when, according to EFE sources from Renfe, the train found itself in the box of the track with a person who was crossing the level crossing.

Sources from the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) have reported that they have mobilized a SAMU unit and the medical team has confirmed the death of a 19-year-old girl.

Since 9:35 a.m. traffic has been interrupted on both roads between Alfafar and Valencia Norte due to the presence of the police and a direct bus service Gandia-Valencia Norte, Xàtiva-Valencia Norte, Cullera-Valencia Norte has been established and Alzira-València Norte and their respective laps.

According to Renfe, there are “significant delays” on lines C-1 (València-Gandia) and C-2 (València-Xàtiva) of the Nucleo de Cercanías de València due to the winding.

Adif sources have not been able to specify to EFE if the barriers were raised when the collision occurred and have indicated that the circumstances of the event are being investigated by the Civil Guard.
