Apparently, vampires live beneath the water.
An unusual-looking fish is allegedly making a comeback in the American River, as divers said they recently spotted the monster double in California.
According to specialists, the lamprey had vanished from the waterway but it currently seems to be making a comeback. The odd-looking fish are famous for their mouth, which looks like a suction cup filled with teeth.
Karl Bly filmed one of those encounters with the lamprey and posted the footage into the American River Missing and Found webpage, which he conducts.
He composed,”Videoed the second Lamprey of this Season and the second one I have seen in 30 years…. Only a peaceful swim.”
Bly told reporters he hasn’t seen a full-grown lamprey from the American River in decades, Newsweek reports. He’d say he’s had sporadic sightings of infants, but nothing has come near the 24-inch lamprey he spotted.
According to a California Department of Fish and Wildlife official, lampreys make their way into the sea after hatching. They attach themselves to some bigger animal, like a dolphin, shark or whale, then feed off of the larger host.
The official clarified that lampreys aren’t considered dangerous to humans. They will usually return to freshwater places when it’s time to put eggs.
