Valleyfair theme park in Minnesota is currently facing closures and ride shutdowns due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The amusement park, situated between the Minnesota River and Blue Lake, has experienced flooding below “the crest,” as mentioned in a recent release from Valleyfair.

Popular rides such as Excalibur, Thunder Canyon, and Renegade have been impacted by the flooding and are currently closed. In addition, the majority of on-site parking at the park has been flooded, leading to significant transportation challenges for guests.

To assist visitors, Valleyfair is offering free shuttle services from various locations, including the Canterbury Overflow Lot, Eagle Creek Park and Ride, and Southbridge Crossing Park and Ride. The park’s operating hours have been adjusted to 10:00 am to 9:00 pm until further notice, with a temporary gate entrance in place and re-entry strongly discouraged.

Unfortunately, refunds are not being offered to guests affected by the closures, as per Valleyfair’s weather impact policy. The park does not provide refunds for tickets impacted by weather conditions unless guests have chosen the Ticket Insurance option. However, guests are given the option to select another similarly priced date for their visit using the Guest Portal.

In addition to the ride closures and parking challenges, a Fourth of July fireworks show scheduled at Valleyfair has been rescheduled for a later date in the season. The exact rescheduled date has not been announced yet.

Valleyfair’s decision not to offer refunds during this time may disappoint some visitors, but it aligns with their policy regarding weather-related closures. Guests are encouraged to make use of the alternative date option provided by the park to reschedule their visit for a later time.

The impact of the flooding on Valleyfair serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of weather and its potential consequences on outdoor attractions. Despite the challenges posed by the flooding, Valleyfair is working to provide alternative transportation solutions and keep guests informed about changes to operating hours and events.
