US Military Intercepts Russian Fighter Jets and Chinese Bombers Ahead of Biden’s Speech

President Biden was set to give his first address in the Oval Office since announcing he will not be seeking re-election, but before that, the North American Aerospace Defense Command Public Affairs (NORAD) reported that they had to send out fighter jets to intercept two Russian Tu-95 “Bear” bombers and two Chinese H-6 bombers off the coast of Alaska.

According to a press release from NORAD, the agency detected, tracked, and intercepted the two Russian TU-95 and two PRC H-6 military aircraft operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on July 24. The interception was conducted by NORAD fighter jets from both the United States and Canada.

It’s worth noting that the Russian and Chinese aircraft did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace and remained in international airspace. NORAD stated that this activity was not considered a threat, and they will continue to monitor competitor activity near North America and respond accordingly.

The timing of this interception just hours before Biden’s address raises questions about whether it is related to the President’s upcoming speech. However, it has not been confirmed if there is any connection between the two events.

As of now, this is still a developing story, and more details are expected to emerge. Stay tuned for updates on this situation.
