It is true that dogs cannot speak, but that does not mean that they do not communicate. In fact, dogs have their own language with which they let us know how they are, only they don’t do it with words, but with gestures, facial expressions, postures, movements and sounds.

Such as wagging their tail when they are happy or placing their front paws on the ground and raising their butt when they want to play. Even their sleeping postures carry meaning. There are also calming signals, through which the dog asks us to give it its space, such as yawning repeatedly. And, on the other hand, we find certain postures, gestures and movements with which our four-legged best friend expresses that he feels sad.

If you notice that your dog performs one or more of the above positions on a regular basis, it is best that you go to the veterinarian to, first of all, rule out any pain, discomfort or health problem. If this is not the case, you will be looking at a sad dog.

Dog sadness can be due to many factors: stress, separation anxiety if it spends a lot of time alone, insecurity in its environment, lack of certain basic care or attention, lack of cognitive stimulation or physical exercise. Analyze the care your dog receives and request the help of a canine ethologist to remedy his situation and ensure maximum well-being.
