The jury of the XXV literary prize Roc Boronat of Once Catalunya has chosen the writer Pere Gorgoll as the winner of the 25th edition for his work The day the world farted like an aglà.

The day the world farted like an eagle proposes a “review of this world so dependent on social networks and external approval”, a story between reality and the absurd where nothing is what it seems.
Gorgoll (Amer, Girona, 1962) holds a degree in Catalan Philology from the University of Girona and has published the poetry collection Desmemòria, the poem El llac encantat, the stories No te’n vagis and Res and the short stories El gruall i el collaret de colors and The smiling oak tree.

The protagonist of this story celebrates his 60th anniversary “under the threat” of a prediction from a card-thrower who, years before, had told him that he would die that day, and he will do everything possible to avoid it.
At the gala, the Once delegate in Catalonia, Enric Botí, highlighted the institution’s commitment to the Catalan language and literary production, and added that inclusive culture makes all people equal.
