When night falls in the museum, its relics come to life. The vigil of our past celebrates, every night, what remained afterwards: our history. That is the old maxim of the movie, starring the American actor Ben Stiller, Night at the Museum, and also the premise of the collaboration between the Wax Museum of Barcelona and the gastronomic chain Deleito. Wax celebrities such as Mother Teresa, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, or Pablo Picasso were seen on the night of Thursday, April 18 with their hands in the burger mix of the gastronomic project’s co-founder, Alberto Gras.
With the alliance between the project led by Gras and the Wax Museum, the goal is to attract a much younger audience to an event where wax figures come to life after closing time and enjoy a party sponsored by Deleito’s burgers. This way, famous characters like Obama or Brad Pitt can be seen enjoying the “holy pleasure” burgers.
The collaboration began with two actions. One on Thursday, April 18, when as the sun set, their figures breathed celebration in a white and blue gala night with Gras’ hamburgers as the main guest. And the second involving Gras himself, being made up as if he were a wax doll to surprise all visitors.
The general coordinator of the Wax Museum in Barcelona, Núria Solé, embraces the gastronomic collaboration through which “the museum has managed to be present on the radar of young people in Barcelona, a key audience for the museum’s visibility within the city.” With the arrival of dawn, everything returned to normal, static, fixed, without a trace of hamburgers, but something new inhabited the exhibition halls of the museum visited by a new audience: a good taste in their mouths.
