There are many ways to eat a pizza. From a family evening at a prestigious Italian restaurant to an informal get-together at home with friends. But if there is something that unites all people around this delicacy, it is that reheated pizza is the universal food on hangover days. Who hasn’t woken up on a Sunday and taken a bite of the previous day’s carbonara, even cold? Although it is easy to opt for the microwave, experts recommend opting for the frying pan in these cases.

Having a cold and languid piece of pizza for breakfast is a legal option, although not as tasty as using leftovers from the previous day’s dinner. The dough will be the closest thing to a piece of rubber, although when there is no bread, they are good cakes and will surely taste great after a night of partying. Secondly, the microwave is a good ally when it comes to melting the cheese and tempering the pizza, but not for returning the dough to a minimally acceptable texture. The oven is ruled out due to the laziness involved in turning it on and the disproportionate energy expenditure that it entails.

Fortunately, we can still follow the advice of a baker to avoid eating a piece of pizza a la torera and, of course, throwing it in the trash. We are referring to Edu Lavandeira (@opelouro), who, with more than half a million followers on Instagram, has shared a video that has accumulated 10,000 likes with which you can reheat the pieces of pizza in the pan and restore part of its flavor and texture. . Specifically, the Galician speaks of ‘regenerating’ leftover pizza, which is what is done in restaurants before serving the dishes so that they look freshly made.

To regenerate the pizza from the previous day, try to avoid the hangover and heat a pan large enough to fit the pieces well. Once hot, place the pizza and leave it on low heat for a few minutes. When the cheese begins to melt, simply add two drops of water to each side of the pan and cover immediately. Wait about two or three minutes, until all the water has evaporated and remove the pan from the heat. Voila! You will see how your dinner leftovers have revived and the pizza has a crunchy touch that is not bad at all. Bon appetit!
