The celebration of Sant Jordi in Barcelona has started with a breakfast for some 200 authors and book publishers, which has kicked off the events in the city for the festival of literature and love in Catalonia. Little by little, its streets, especially La Rambla, which concentrates a large number of stalls selling books and roses, have been filling with the first onlookers, many of them with red flowers already in hand. Some politicians, in the middle of the municipal campaign, have also joined the ride.
