First responders from the San Diego Fire-Rescue and SDPD lined overpasses along Interstate 805 to pay their respects as Officer Machitar’s body was transported to his final resting place.
The procession was a somber yet powerful display of solidarity and support for the fallen officer. Firefighters and police officers stood alongside their vehicles on the bridges near the Mira Mesa Boulevard exit and just ahead of the State Route 52 interchange, forming a poignant tribute to Officer Machitar’s service and sacrifice.
