In yesterday’s day of the IX International Congress of the Spanish Language that is held in Cádiz, the RAE and the Asale presented new projects and important updates of their works.

One of the most outstanding is that of the Pan-Hispanic Dictionary of Doubts, from 2005, which has been updated in accordance with all the academic works published later, such as Grammar, Spelling and the 23rd edition of the Dictionary of the Spanish language.

“It is a risky job”, since the department of Spanish for the Day has to give an immediate response to the new words, affirmed the academic Salvador Gutiérrez. The new version, fully digitized and available in a few weeks, will allow you to browse your entries and access other academic works in one click.

This will also happen with Corpes, the Corpus of XXI Century Spanish, which already has 400 million properly labeled words, 70% of which come from America, announced academic Guillermo Rojo.

The director of Academic Grammar, Ignacio Bosque, was in charge of presenting the Glossary of grammatical terms, which will also be available online with other academic works.

For her part, the academic Paz Battaner referred to some new features of the DLE, the normative dictionary, and announced the inclusion of a synonym dictionary.

The director of the RAE, Santiago Muñoz Machado, also presented a new edition of the Pan-Hispanic Dictionary of Legal Spanish and the Chronicle of the Spanish Language corresponding to the last year.
