A sudden death and a rebirth. “28 years ago I was dedicated to human resources. I loved beauty, but it wasn’t on my radar. Then, at 9 and a half months, my son Gonzálo died of sudden death. There my life changes”, recalls Natalia de la Vega with enormous strength. “The day we buried him, I told my husband: “I am going to go and remove the IUD because, if I don’t remove it, fear will overcome me and I will never be a mother again. And he left the job; I will create whatever it is, ”she explains. “I did both. Our daughter Tacha was born 9 months and 4 days after her brother died. I spent my entire pregnancy taking care of my two-year-old son, studying aesthetics and doing a business plan for a company. His name is Tacha, like my daughter, because he is a miracle, like her. Over the years I have learned that the steps I took were to keep myself busy and not go crazy. Life? You have to put your nose into it to live it ”, she reflects.
A realistic vision of beauty. “I’m 59 years old,” Natalia blurts out almost like a letter of introduction. She says it herself without fuss, almost as a reaffirmation. “You have to assimilate how old you are, that is very clear to me. I want to have the best 59 years, I’m not looking to become a 25, it would be a very rare monstrosity, ”she says. “Today there is everything (treatments, devices, procedures…) to be the best version of yourself, but you have to accept your age. If not, you won’t be fine. Becoming a 30 is impossible; You see some faces that are all the same… It’s weird. I am more of subtle treatments and taking care of the mind, which is very important, ”she says. “When I lose my balance, I look for it quickly with breathing, yoga, walking, being with the people I love, understanding and accepting things…” “My vision of beauty is realistic – she continues – cellulite and flaccidity can be improved, but you’re not going to remove them. The same with the spots, if they tell you that they are going to remove them forever, they are lying to you ”, she affirms.
Waiting list. “There is always a queue for the Remodelage, the Martine de Richeville massage, which we have exclusively in Spain. Once you try it you become addicted. Our hair color and treatment service is also in high demand, ”she says. Natalia de la Vega travels around the world researching the latest in beauty to incorporate it into her centers (she was the first to bring the products and Dr. Barbara Sturm herself). “I try everything, wonderful things and others that are shit. But you always learn, ”she points out. “Maribel Verdú was my fairy godmother; She was the first celebrity to come to the center by surprise, when she didn’t know her. Now we are friends.”
What should never be done in aesthetics. “The treatment that has gone so well for your friend may not be for you, because you don’t have the same skin or the same problems. We are all different and we cannot all do the same. The success of a treatment is the personalized diagnosis ”, she concludes.
Long haul love. “I have been with my husband all my life, I met him at the age of 15 (he was going to turn 17) and we are still together. The secret is to have grown and matured together, as well as mutual respect and admiration. We have had bad times, like everyone else. But I am very clear that I want to be with him. Today young people have little patience: they get angry and goodbye.
What may surprise you about her. “How much I like, read and study history. And Egyptology. When I retire I want to have a lot of time to spend in a beauty salon (you know, at the blacksmith’s house…) and to go to Egypt for a whole year and soak up its culture”, she says. “I would have loved to invite Hatshepsut or Nefertiti to my center. In Egyptian culture they took great care of themselves.”
All in one. “When I created Tacha, 28 years ago, I opted for a new concept that integrated, in the same center, a high-level hairdresser, facial and body treatments, state-of-the-art massages, aesthetic medicine and nutrition. It saves valuable time.” Tacha.es. “I just joined Tacha Natalie’s Cosmetics, a body brand that actually uses the same ingredients as facial cosmetics.”
Philadelphia Sound. “You have to put music to life,” she says. She likes everything from Alejandro Sanz to opera, but the sound of Philadelphia is the soundtrack she shares with her husband, Carlos Escario.
