Lara has recovered. The dog was traveling with her human, Purificación Ramos Villagrasa, Puri; during the early hours of last Saturday when a kamikaze hit her vehicle. A crash that was fatal for Puri and the other driver, but not for Lara, who until yesterday remained admitted to the Anicura Buenavista veterinary clinic in Oviedo.
Lara arrived at the hospital in critical condition, but after recovering, she has already been discharged. However, now there is a problem; And, according to Puri’s sister, Lara is still looking for her owner.
It happened last Saturday. Lara was traveling by car with the Early Childhood Education teacher when, at 1:30 a.m., a kamikaze hit her vehicle brutally, causing Puri’s death. The daredevil, A.F.R., 39, also lost his life.
Lara was the only survivor, although the veterinarians who treated the dog upon its arrival suspect that the animal may have even been run over by another vehicle after the brutal fatal accident.
The animal was admitted to the veterinary clinic, where its spleen had to be removed last Sunday, in addition to having to treat its head wounds. However, Lara has shown great strength and, in just a week, she has been discharged.
The dog, however, is shocked by the accident and notices that something is not right in this whole situation. She is missing Puri. One of the deceased’s sisters commented a few hours ago that Lara continues to look for her and that last Monday she even confused a veterinarian with Puri because of her hairstyle, which was very similar to hers.
Lara, 10 years old, was like a daughter to Puri, as her sister says. The dog was adopted two years ago, after having gone through two homes in which she was not exactly treated well. A factor that Puri always took into account, as she made sure that Lara had all the emotional support she needed.
Puri’s sister has only one wish: that Lara recovers as soon as possible, both physically and emotionally. Once she feels better, she trusts that she can adapt to this new life without her owner. Of course, she will continue to be part of the family, because they don’t plan to let Lara go anywhere other than her home.
