Dogs have an impressive way of dealing with pain, something that has been demonstrated when a furry dog ??with a broken leg continued with his life almost as if nothing had happened. Unlike people, who openly express our suffering, this brave four-legged friend kept his pain silent, making his human think it was nothing serious.
This story has come to light thanks to @Mario_CC94, a veterinarian who has used the X platform to share the x-ray of one of the dogs he has recently treated after having been limping for months and showing signs of discomfort.
“Well, nothing. I brought him because he has been limping and with a swollen leg since October or November,” were the words of the dog’s owner, quoted by the veterinarian in his post. The x-ray revealed a more serious condition than the owner had imagined: a clearly broken and displaced bone.
Despite the severity of the diagnosis, the animal’s owner seemed to hope for a quick and easy solution, asking him to “put a cast on it and go home.” Clearly, this doesn’t work like that because surgery was necessary due to the severity of the fracture.
Aware that the fracture visible on the x-ray was complex to treat due to the large displacement, he immediately understood that the case exceeded the conventional procedures he could perform in his clinic. Thus, since a cast would not be enough, he decided to “refer him to a traumatologist” so that he could take care of the animal with greater guarantees.
