The Tattersalls Online June Sale saw a highlight as the late Galileo (Ire)’s Huxley (Ire) emerged as the top seller, fetching 52,000gns and being acquired by Dare To Dream Racing on Thursday. The 3-year-old colt, consigned by Bawnmore Racing as lot 80, has notable lineage as a half-brother to Group 1 winner Cloth Of Stars (Ire). The dam, Strawberry Fledge (Kingmambo), is connected to G1 Oaks winner Light Shift and Group 1 sire Ulysses (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).
Will Smith from Dare To Dream Racing expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, “We’ve been wanting to get a nice horse for the syndicate to take us to some top tracks, and we think he’ll provide us with some great opportunities over the summer. He’ll be going to Michael Attwater in Epsom and that’s one of the tracks that should suit him perfectly. His form at Dundalk seems pretty tidy so we’d like a crack at some of the better all-weather races as well.”
Another notable purchase was lot 58, the 3-year-old filly World Vision (Ire) by Galileo, who was secured by the Wind Chimes Partnership for 49,000gns. The third highest-priced horse of the day was Mono River (Fr) (Zarak {Fr}) at 39,000gns, purchased by Mohammed Hamad Khalifa Al Attiyah.
In addition, the sale included a breeze-up section, with a daughter of Coulsty (Ire) (lot 14) from Beresford Stables drawing attention by posting the fastest timed breeze over a quarter-mile at Dundalk and being sold for 27,000gns.
Overall, 71 lots were sold out of 119 offered, with an aggregate of 677,100gns. The average price stood at 9,537gns and the median at 4,200gns. This edition of Tattersalls Online also marked the first time that breeze-up times were made publicly available for sales conducted in Europe.
