She moved back to Indiana to care for her father and mother, both of whom had been diagnosed with cancer. Ray joined her in setting up her new home on the 300-acre, remote property of her parents. Ray was Maggie’s widower, so Ray and Maggie divorced to make ends meet.

Investigators were told by the couple’s Florida mail carrier, “48 Hours,” that she believed Dani was being abused. Although Dani did not tell her about any abuses, she stated that she had seen Dani with dark eyes multiple times.

Bullet Holes in the Bedsheets

After reviewing the evidence, Aaron Negangard, Prosecutor, stated that it “completely contradicts Dani Green’s story.” The bullet holes in the sheets suggest that Dani “had” to have shot Ray underneath the blanket. This would indicate that he was asleep. Dani’s defense lawyer claims Ray wrapped the blanket around himself and lunged at Dani.

“Damning” Internet Research

Prosecutor Negangard believes that Dani Green’s internet searches are “damning” evidence that she intended to kill Ray. Dani Green’s Florida friend said that Dani searched the internet for information about shootings, as she was on a remote property and wanted to defend herself against intruders.
