The work Animal negre tristesa, produced by the Sala Beckett and the Teatro Español, won last night the Critics’ award for the best theatrical show of 2022. Original by the German playwright Anja Hilling, the work by Julio Manrique was also recognized as best direction theatrical. And he still collected two other awards: the stage space for Alejandro Andújar and the sound space for Damien Bazin.

The Romea theater in Barcelona once again hosted the Critic of the Performing Arts awards, which celebrated their 25th edition.

The dance prize went to R-A-U-X-A, by Aina Alegre; the musical for Golfus de Roma, directed by Daniel Anglès, with Eloi Gómez as best musical actor; and the small format for El gegant del pi, by Pau Vinyals.

Pere Arquillué was awarded the prize for best actor for the multi-character monologue of The most beautiful body that will ever be found in this place, by Josep M. Miró, who won best text. Likewise, Pau Carrió received the best adaptation for Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment.

The best actress award went to Queralt Casasayas, for Fátima, by Jordi Prat i Coll, a play that also received a prize for Albert Pascual’s costumes.

Among the honorary awards, the translator Joan Sellent was recognized with the Gonzalo Pérez de Olaguer award; the community artistic project of the Antic Teatre, with the María José Ragué prize; and La Trono de Tarragona, with the prize for the room.
