A group of rescuers has faced a scene from a movie. The professionals received a call from a neighbor, who witnessed a deer crossing a frozen lake when the ice broke, falling into the water.
Faced with this urgency, the Gilmanton Fire Department (USA) got started quickly, since in this type of situation time is money. The team of five rescuers boarded the rescue boat and broke the ice to rescue the animal.
As reported by The Dodo, the deer was trapped more than 200 meters from the coast, making it difficult to find. Fortunately, rescuers found the animal in time, which kept its head above water.
“We took her back on the boat to a safe place in the woods so she wouldn’t run back into the lake,” said Gilmanton Fire Department Captain John Cunningham.
According to the chief of the Fire Department, it is quite common to find deer stuck in the lakes in the area, since they walk without fear. The culprit for this accident would have been the rise in temperatures, which is why the ice was thinner than usual.
