Marta Carazo starts today as presenter of the second edition of the Telediario, thus replacing Carlos Franganillo. The journalist will also premiere at the same time on Telecinco, where he covers Pedro Piqueras’ position.
After her incorporation, La 1 viewers have asked themselves the same question: Who is Marta Carazo? Graduated in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, Carazo has been a correspondent for TVE in Brussels in recent years. We tell you everything below.
The journalist began her career at Canal 24 Horas, presenting news programs between 1999 and 2007. She was also director and presenter of the programs Casa de América and A Fondo (2006-2009).
Carazo joined Telediario in 2009 to cover news about the Royal Family, moving three years later to the Economics area. Among his projects, he has presented and co-directed the Europe 2020 program.
Carazo spent a few years as a correspondent in Brussels, where he covered highly relevant topics such as Brexit, the rollout of vaccines in the European Union or the response to the war in Ukraine.
After interviewing the main European leaders, the journalist was awarded the Salvador de Madariaga European Journalism Award in the Television category in 2023, a renowned award granted by the Association of European Journalists, the Representation in Spain of the European Commission and the Madrid Office of the European Parliament.
