Toñi Moreno has not shyed away in the slightest to talk about his homosexuality. The presenter has done it with an old acquaintance, the singer Laura Pausini, who asked her during an interview five years ago if she liked women, believing that it was public that she was a lesbian. It was not like that and, from there, her life changed completely.

“The last time we met, I did an interview with you. In a question, I told you that you had everything I wanted: a beautiful girl and that you sang very well, although I told you that you could keep your husband,” Moreno recalled, in a new interview with Pausini for his program Plan de tarde . The Italian artist replied: “Sure, you like girls.” She claims that she thought her homosexuality was public.

His sexual orientation has starred in the first moments of the interview, on the occasion of the presentation of the new work by Pausini, who celebrates thirty years of his musical career.

The presenter acknowledges that “it was an open secret”, although she had not said it publicly. He ended up thanking that gesture over time: “Suddenly, you took it out. You pushed me out of the closet, but I have to thank you, ”Moreno acknowledged in his conversation with the singer.

Moreno assures that, since it was made public that she was a lesbian, “she has felt much freer when it comes to doing interviews.” And she now remembers that moment fondly: “I won’t be able to sing well in life, I’m still a lesbian but now I have a girl, like you”, referring to her little Lola.

Before the interview, the presenter has also posted an emotional post on Instagram: “Almost five years since that interview where he supposedly ‘took me out of the closet’. That night she got my phone and apologized because she took an open secret for granted. At that time I was not aware of the scope that this anecdote was going to have in my life.

His question was liberating. “His ingenuity and his naturalness helped me free myself from an absurd fear. He slapped thirty kilos off me. I never hid, but I was afraid of not being accepted -the usual-. Sometimes you are your own closet”, says Moreno.

From that moment, which the presenter cannot forget, Pausini has become a very special person for her: “Thank you, Laura Pausini. Always in my heart”, to which the singer has responded with “I adore you!”.
