Aston Martin is a story of luxury and exclusivity that began on January 15, 1913, when Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin founded Bamford and Martin Limited, in London. Immediately, an elegant design and extraordinary performance created a myth that, in 1914, adopted the official name of Aston Martin, becoming a synonym of craftsmanship, beauty, speed and glory of international motorsport, until seducing James Bond, the most famous spy. glamorous and traditionalist of the world.
For a few years now, the English car manufacturer has opted to transfer its essence to real estate projects as well. Last November he unveiled his first luxury mansion in Japan, No. 001 Minami Aoyama, a splendid villa in the Omotesando suburb of Tokyo. The four-story house, with impressive views of the Japanese capital, was sold for 10 million euros and its construction is scheduled to be completed in November 2023.
Equipped with a wine cellar, a home cinema, a gym, a spa and, of course, a gallery to admire the car collection, the villa was born from the collaboration between the car manufacturer and the Japanese real estate agency Vibroa. Under the supervision of a local architect, the exterior design was carried out by Aston Martin’s acclaimed designers, who are also responsible for the property’s interior styling and carefully selected furnishings.
Commenting on the collaboration, Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin said: “Both brands, leaders in the luxury lifestyle, combine cutting-edge design and technology with traditional craftsmanship.” In addition, added the manager, “the influence of Tokyo culture, with its extraordinary history and style, is very present. I recognize the references to fashion, architecture and even cooking that our team took into account when developing their work”.
In particular, according to Reichman: “On the exterior, we have created a striking architectural form with clean lines and seamless edges so that residents can connect and experience this unique place. Inside, we have delighted the senses, using a holistic combination of elements and materials to form a calm and relaxing space.”
The entry into the Japanese real estate market is aimed at strengthening Aston Martin’s presence in Asia, where the English brand sees great growth potential. The operation comes after similar successful projects in the United States, including the Sylvan Rock development and the exclusive Aston Martin Residences in Miami, a complex of buildings in which 97% of the apartments were sold before the opening of the luxurious tower, scheduled for summer 2023.
“After having manufactured more than 80,000 cars throughout our history, we have considered entering the real estate business for the first time,” said Simon Sproule, vice president of Aston Martin, in 2017, when the British firm announced the construction of this skyscraper. 66-story building, located at 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way, an exclusive area in the center of the Florida city.
The sail-shaped structure will be the tallest residential building in southern New York and has been designed by the American studio of architects Revuelta and the Argentine Bodas Miani Anger. The tower is made up of 391 floors ranging from 70 to 300 square meters, as well as seven penthouses and an exclusive triplex penthouse measuring 1,000 square meters. The new skyscraper is located near the sea and has all kinds of services: spa, cinema, art gallery, virtual golf room and a private marina for superyachts.
Here too, interior elements such as the carbon fiber reception desks or door handles were developed directly by the Aston Martin design team. The cheapest units went on sale for 1.4 million euros and, although almost all of them have already been sold, it is still possible to buy the superlative triplex at a price of 55 million euros.
The three floors that dominate the building form this dream home called Unique, whose lucky owner will have a private elevator and enveloping views of the sea, the river and the city, as well as six bedrooms, several bathrooms, a terrace on each floor, swimming pool , private gym and spa and a heated garage tailor-made for a very special occupant.
In fact, the price of the penthouse includes the very rare Aston Martin Vulcan car, one of the 24 existing in the world. The car is a track prototype produced between 2015 and 2016, equipped with a 7.0-liter V12 engine, capable of delivering 820 horsepower. The Vulcan is a collector’s gem, currently valued at three million euros, up from an asking price of two million when it was first produced seven years ago.
Thus, with a single operation, those who have a few million in their piggy banks can get a penthouse that has few equals in the world in one of the most popular and expensive cities in the United States, and a collector’s car destined to increase their value over time.
Finally, as a further stylistic detail, the triplex is accompanied by a leather-bound book, filled with works of art created especially for the buyer and with a QR code linked to an original orchestral score inspired by the views from the penthouse. The book is even paired with a lectern that reflects the shape of the building and has also been designed by Aston Martin.
It is evident that “this is not a simple concession of the brand, but a true alliance”, as explained by Alejandro Aljanati, marketing director of G
