Sad day for Australian society. The country’s authorities announced this Tuesday that they believe they have found the bodies of television presenter Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davis, who were allegedly murdered a week ago at the hands of a police officer in the southeast of the country.

Karen Webb, police officer in charge of the investigation commission, declared a few hours ago at the press conference that they found the lifeless bodies on a private property located in the town of Bungonia, about 185 kilometers southwest of Sydney. This discovery has come after carrying out intense searches in the Royal National Park and in a sports field in the Cronulla neighborhood, places located 26 kilometers from Sydney.

Webb has also explained that, in the absence of relevant evidence and formal confirmation, they firmly believe that they are the bodies of the communicator and her boyfriend: “We are very sure that we have located Luke and Jesse.” Furthermore, the researcher has confirmed that the relatives of both have already been notified and that they are going to travel to the place of discovery to carry out the formal recognition.

Last Friday, the authorities accused police officer Beau Lammare of being responsible for the double murder, since the officer turned himself in at a Sydney police station. According to investigators, it is believed that Lammare had a romantic relationship with Baird, a relationship that would have motivated the commission of the crime.

According to the police investigation, the 28-year-old agent ended the couple’s life with a firearm on February 19 at the presenter’s home. The accused had allegedly rented a van to transport the bodies and dispose of the bodies.

It should be noted that the Police did not begin to investigate the disappearance of the presenter and the steward until last Wednesday, at which time some of their belongings were found in a garbage container in the Cronulla neighborhood, south of Sydney.

The murder of the couple has given rise to countless messages and reflections on social networks. Many friends, acquaintances and followers of the television presenter and his partner have expressed their sadness and sorrow about the situation on platforms such as Instagram or X, just as the LGTBI community has mobilized to ask for more security and condemn the murders.

The Commissioner of the Police of the state of New South Wales, Kate Webb, has made it clear in the press conference that the investigations rule out that it is a case of murder motivated by “homosexual hatred” and that everything indicates that we are facing a crime of domestic violence.
