The Greek royal family has surprised with the publication of an emotional, unpublished video of the private burial of Constantine II of Greece in Tatoi.

For the first time, the institution allowed an intimate moment to be witnessed, showing the pain and emotion of the closest relatives of the late monarch.

The images allow us to appreciate moving scenes that reveal the depth of the pain of the Greek royal family. From the exact moment of the burial of the coffin to the gestures of support and comfort between the royals.

One of the most emotional moments in the video is when the Kings of Spain, Felipe and Letizia, offer their support to Constantine II’s sisters, Irene of Greece and Doña Sofía. Positioned behind them and holding their arm, they show their solidarity in a gesture of deep affection and care.

Furthermore, it is observed how the king’s widow, Ana María, receives the Hellenic flag that covers the coffin and kisses it with deep emotion, while her children surround her in an act of accompaniment and consolation. The shared pain is reflected in the faces of the family members, including granddaughter Olympia, whose visibly upset expression reveals the intensity of the moment.

The video also shows the final tribute to Constantine II, with his children placing wreaths around the tomb, allowing the rest of the family to say goodbye to the late monarch.

With this publication, the Greek royal family seeks to honor the memory of Constantine II while bringing the figure of the monarch closer to the entire world.
