Rosalía published yesterday on Instagram a photo of her limited edition Barça shirt. In the image, the architecture of the Eixample is easily recognized. Highlighted by a Catalan newspaper, TimeOut, behind it can be seen the Queviures Serra store, located at the crossroads of Girona and Ausiàs March.
Opposite this store is Casa Burés, a modernist building converted into luxury apartments designed by the architect Francisco Berenguer, a close friend of Gaudí. The wrought iron railings with floral details to which Rosalía poses leave no room for doubt.
From the outside, the building already attracts attention. It stands out above all for its pointed tower. Its front roof is made up of almost 90 wooden heads in the shape of mythological animals that allow the evacuation of water.
Inside, Casa Burés is a festival of modernist details. In the inner courtyard, at the foot of the main staircase, a life-size stone bear welcomes you. It is a work of the Catalan painter and sculptor Antoni Coll. The building has one of the oldest elevators in Barcelona, ??dating from 1905. The stained glass windows are made of German glass and provide plenty of light. The floor is a Nolla mosaic, made up of small colored tiles that form geometric compositions. And stone mosaics also cover the walls, with floral and Byzantine motifs.
As for the apartment itself, Rosalía’s Instagram photos suggest that she is in the ‘El Modernista’ apartment: 145 square meters with two bathrooms and two bedrooms. An access to two indoor pools: one 24 meters long and another on the roof with a lounge bar, a gym, a 600-square-meter community patio and a jacuzzi at the top of the tower.
It is not entirely certain, but it seems that the international Motomami has settled in this Eixample estate for a while. In any case, she seems very attached to her Catalan roots, and in love with the modernist style, as evidenced by Mas Morera, the Manresa mansion that Rosalía bought with her partner Rauw Alejandro.
