The dramatic incident of Rafael Amargo in prison that almost cost him his life: “He grabbed a knife”

Rafael Amargo, recently acquitted of a crime against public health, suffered an extremely disturbing episode during his stay in prison. In a climate of great tension, the dancer was involved in an incident that put his life in danger, according to Luciana Bongianino, his wife, in ¡De Viernes!

Luciana has reported that she found the Granada choreographer “full of blood” after an altercation with a prison official for wanting to defend another prisoner. According to her story, the employee in question treated Amargo in an extremely hostile manner, even insulting her children.

Desperate and on the verge of losing control due to the aggressiveness of the official, and in order not to attack her, as Luciana has acknowledged, Amargo “picked up a knife and slashed himself in the neck.” The result of this self-harm could have cost him his life, but he did not suffer any problems.

In this way, according to the actress’s words, the dancer was subjected to so much tension inside prison that he came to believe that his only way out, as he himself perceived, was to inflict harm on himself to avoid doing something crazy. He himself recalled in the program that this official, who had already exhibited this behavior on other occasions, is not qualified to hold such a position.

The acquittal of Rafael Amargo, ruled by the Provincial Court of Madrid, has brought relief to a situation marked by pain and uncertainty. The magistrates considered that the evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office did not have a sufficient scientific basis to justify the telephone interventions that supported the accusations.

Despite the favorable resolution, the trauma and scars of this difficult period will remain in the lives of Rafael Amargo and his family. The choreographer has confessed that it has “been good for him” to go to jail, but he has also recognized that he has been a victim of a corrupt police and judicial system that has taken away four years of his life that he can no longer recover.
