Rafael Amargo had something to say and he did so in ¡De Viernes! Recently acquitted of charges of drug trafficking and membership in a criminal gang, which could have sentenced him to 9 years in prison, Amargo has shared his version of the events and has not left in a good light the authorities who dealt with his case.
The choreographer is very happy to have been free, but he considers that four years of his life have been stolen from him that no one can give him back. “It has been endless hours. Slow justice is the greatest injustice there is,” he lamented.
Amargo has also suggested that he has been a victim of a corrupt police system. “I haven’t said it, but I’m going to say it. Things were missing in my house. After doing all this registration, there is a watch that does not appear, there are cufflinks that do not appear… I don’t say anything, but they don’t appear,” he slipped.
In a more forceful tone, Amargo has assured that the authorities did not know how to properly handle a case as high-profile as his. “I have been the victim of a case that has gotten out of hand,” he stated. Furthermore, he has highlighted that he always had the feeling that there was corruption and a desire for revenge on the part of the agents involved in his case: “They were angry because they did not get their way.”
Cándido Conde Pumpido, who was his lawyer, has also been named by the man from Granada. According to Amargo, he had suspicious behavior that he did not like at all, in addition to asking him over and over again to make an agreement. “Thank goodness I didn’t pay attention to him because I was acquitted,” he commented, relieved.
