“What is served is sold and what is sold is served”, is one of the mottos of aalta botica, a unique establishment based on the most exclusive gourmet products located at Enric Granados, 114 (Barcelona). This boutique for good food is the dream of Riccardo Ferrari, who was marketing director for Spain for Dom Perignon, Ruinart and Krug, and Patricia Amor, a marketing expert and vocational gourmand. Both select the most extraordinary delicacies from all over the world and sell them in this old apothecary.

In addition, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared only with the delicacies found on their sideboards, whether it be an exquisite waygu jerky with Volzhenka caviar, a truffled bikini with croissant bread or a rum baba with fior di latte ice cream and whipped cream

“Formerly, in an apothecary, spices, liqueurs, syrups or aromatics were sought. Well, what we find in aalta botica are gourmet remedies to heal the soul and the palate”, explains Amor. A monumental onyx marble bar for breakfast or having a vermouth welcomes the visitor between oak cabinets that display preserves as if they were jewelry.

Further on, the counter with delicacies such as Arturo Sánchez hams, Caseificio Santa Rita Parmesan cheese or Upstream smoked salmon, looks like a fashion store. And in the background, conceived as a temple, the restaurant room, with capacity for a dozen diners. An intimate and personal space for a light dinner where you don’t cook, but rather add a touch of heat -if necessary-, to a menu of appetizers plated live.
