Despite the fact that the case of Daniel Sancho is already officially closed, according to the number two of the Thai police, they are willing to continue looking for evidence. And it is that the murder and dismemberment of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta by, presumably, the son of Rodolfo Sancho is in the spotlight of half the planet.
The defendant is in the Koh Samui prison infirmary awaiting trial. Meanwhile, new details do not stop emerging. “We already have the definitive results of the autopsy. First they fought, according to the evidence at the scene (of the crime). Daniel punched him, then the doctor (Arrieta) fell and hit his head against the sink, but he did not He died at that moment, but when (Sancho) began to cut his throat, according to forensics,” Big Joke, deputy director of the Thai Police, told the EFE news agency.
This same policeman did not hesitate to offer his first interview on Spanish television for the program En boca de todos. An hour of conversation where he left new data on the air that had not been publicly known until now. According to Big Joke, Daniel Sancho’s girlfriend was about to travel to Thailand, something that would have precipitated the murder of the surgeon.
Although it is not the first time that it has been pointed out that the actor’s son was waiting for the arrival of his partner, it had never been put on the table that it could be one of the causes of the moment chosen to, allegedly, commit the crime.
After these latest news, the information from NBC News came to light again, which claimed that Daniel Sancho confessed to Edwin Arrieta his predisposition to marry someone else. Something that, according to the medium, the surgeon would not have taken it in the best way.
This information is added to the new statements that Big Joke offered in the Cuatro program. Among other things, the number two of the Thai police stated that they could not verify that there had been threatening messages from the surgeon on the defendant’s mobile. “We have no written evidence because Daniel deleted the messages,” he explained. “We can recover the messages, but it will take about three weeks,” he reinforced.
But that was not all. The police officer, also called Surachate Hakparn, wanted to make it clear why traces of blood could not be found on Edwin Arrieta’s shirt, despite having received a stab wound, something much commented on by Spanish journalists. “The clothes were washed by Daniel,” he stated emphatically.
Among other things, it also pointed to the defendant’s possible way to avoid the death penalty: confess to the entire trial. If that happened, Daniel Sancho could be sentenced to life imprisonment and thus avoid capital punishment. Although the strategy that the defendant’s lawyers will follow remains to be seen, if one thing is certain, it is that they will do everything possible to avoid the worst sentence.
