The family war between Joaquín Torres and his older brother continues to be the order of the day. The architect’s mother, Joaquina Verez Vivanco, died on March 2 after fighting a long illness. A terrible loss that has been a hard blow for the entire Torres family, but especially for the former collaborator of Espejo Público, who in just over a week has had to face the loss of his mother and a serious confrontation with his older brother Julio.

A few days ago, the architect, along with the rest of his siblings, accused Julio, his older brother, of having left their parents almost bankrupt after taking control of their business conglomerate. An economic situation that would have led the heads of the family to go from having 41 million euros to practically nothing.

The former collaborator of Espejo Público is devastated by his brother’s actions, and he made it known in his last conversation via WhatsApp that he revealed last Friday And now Sonsoles. ”You are the worst of the worst. Here the only one who has been the sole administrator of everything to keep the assets is you. The day your children find out what a scumbag you are, I hope your world falls to the ground (…) I’m not going to stop until I strip you of everything you’ve stolen from them,” wrote Joaquín Torres.

The brothers have not been face to face for years, but this Monday the situation could take a radical turn. And today, Monday, March 18, the funeral mass is celebrated in Madrid in honor of Joaquina Verez Vivanco. An appointment that all the brothers will attend and that could trigger a serious confrontation if Julio ends up appearing at church. And the possibility that the older brother could appear at mass has caused a lot of tension among family members.

Something that Joaquín Torres himself commented upon his arrival at the church this afternoon. ”This puts an end to some very difficult moments and begins the mourning and the period of acceptance. For my father it was important and that’s why we are all here,” he began by saying. ”It is not the funeral that my mother would have wanted, but my father did want it, that is why I have tried to do what my mother asked me, to please my father in everything we could,” he declared.

Regarding the possibility of seeing his brother Julio at mass, the architect recognized that he did not need his brother’s presence. ”For me, Julio is dead, he is not my brother, he does not exist and I hope he does not come, because that would mean that my father would leave (…) For me, no one is missing, only my mother,” he stated.
