Every year hundreds of films are released in movie theaters, each with a very different and marked style. Its main objective: to captivate all those spectators who decide to go to their trusted cinema to spend a fun and carefree afternoon.

But the industry of the seventh art is not going through its best moment. A few weeks ago, the famous strike of actors and screenwriters began throughout Hollywood, in which they demand decent working conditions, due to the low salaries that many professionals in the sector receive for each project.

As a consequence of this situation, all the filming of Hollywood movies and series have had to stop their productions, until both parties reach an agreement. Therefore, it is not surprising that with the level of interest and expectation that this strike has generated, some of the figures that different professionals in the sector perceived years ago have begun to come to light.

An example of this is the salary that actor Seann William Scott received for participating in one of the most important comedy franchises in the film industry, American Pie, which celebrates its 24th anniversary just in 2023. The interpreter gave life to the character of Steve Stifler in the first film released in 1999. The success of the film was huge, which led the studio to make a few more sequels. But despite the fact that the film managed to raise a large amount of money, Seann William Scott received a meager salary.

As published by Deadline, the interpreter earned a total of $8,000 for his participation in the tape. A very small figure if we compare it with the 250 million dollars that the tape raised in the year of its release and more based on the fact that it only cost the studio 11 million dollars.

The franchise was so well received by the public that Universal Pictures made three more sequels starring Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein or the aforementioned Seann William Scott. But the American Pie universe was only beginning to expand, and several tie-in movies starring Eugene Levy hit theaters years later.

In 2020 the long-awaited female reboot arrived, American Pie: Girls Rule. But it seems that the study has not given up on the franchise and as it was announced in 2022 a new film in the saga was on the way.
