The rapper-mogul purchased Death Row Records’ brand name from MNRK Music Group. This private equity fund is managed by Blackstone, an i vestment firm. Wednesday was announced Wednesday. The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Snoop Dogg stated that he is excited about the opportunity to acquire the label’s name.

Snoop Dogg, 50, stated that he was thrilled to have the chance to purchase the iconic Death Row Records brand. It feels great to own the label that I was a founding member of and at the beginning stages of my career. It is a very meaningful moment for me.”

Snoop Dogg was on Death Row Records in the 1990s, which served as his springboard to greatness. Dr. Dre, Suge knight, and the D.O.C. founded the label in 1992. In the immediate aftermath N.W.A.’s dissolution, Dick Griffey and Dr. Dre founded the label.

David Kestnbaum is a senior managing Director at Blackstone and said that he looks forward to seeing Snoop Dogg take over Death Row.

Kestnbaum stated that the Death Row Records brand will be returned to Snoop Dogg. We wish him success as the brand continues to grow under his leadership.

The records of the label, which include Dre’s first solo album, “The Chronic”, and Snoop Dogg’s debut album “Doggystyle”, are considered classics in hip-hop.

After becoming the label’s most popular artist in the ’90s, Tupac Shakur was killed in Las Vegas in 1996 as he rode in Knight’s car. Knight experienced decades of decline after Shakur’s passing.

After Death Row went bankrupt in 2006, Knight was released from prison. Knight spent time in prison. His talent for near violence eventually led to him being released.

Chris Taylor, president of MNRK Music group, stated that “Snoop” is the executive who will take Death Row into the next 30 years.
