Rafa Castaño is the man of the day. This Sevillian has made history thanks to solving the Rosco de Pasapalabra at once and almost without hesitation this past Thursday, March 16. A feat that leads him to become the winner of this television contest with the highest jackpot in his history.

A fact, a feat – that of obtaining 2,272,000 euros – that has not gone unnoticed by anyone. Because it’s not easy at all. And that is precisely what this Sevillian has narrated in Espejo Público, where Susanna Griso has interviewed him with all the honors. Because what happened when the program ended? How has Rafa’s life changed since he solved this already famous rosco?

The truth is that Rafa has felt “overwhelmed” after seeing the reaction of the public when observing how he managed to solve the rosco. “It is such an unusual situation that you have reactions that you cannot foresee,” she told Susanna Griso after confessing to feeling “nervous” when seeing herself again in Pasapalabra.

But he did. In fact, once the outcome was recorded and he began to announce the resolution of the Rosco, Rafa has experienced one of his most unusual moments, since people asked him about the winner, but his reaction was not what they expected: “I said : ‘You can’t say, you’ll know’. And a lot of people told me: ‘That’s because he didn’t take it with him’.

“At that moment the first thing that comes to my mind is Orestes because in the end we have been two contestants who deserved the jackpot and in the end due to the format one has to take it”, he recalled, who has confessed that he The first thing he said to him was “I’m sorry, man, because he felt that he had to take it too.”

“I held back my joy a lot out of respect for Orestes,” he added, who has shown in Espejo Público the great affection he has developed for his partner and opponent for more than a hundred programs. “He is an elegant guy and I know that he was in defeat just as he would be in victory,” he insisted.

But how did it get there? How did you come to solve the Rosco? Rafa Castaño has recognized that much of the success is due to the help of David, a contestant on Cazador, who has developed “ANKI, a tool that sends words”. “This is essential to study the huge amount of words to memorize and then watch a lot of programs and try to anticipate what they may ask you.”

In his case, in the early stages of the contest he admits that “I saw a lot of donuts and I was 14 hours a day without Sundays or anything because it is a great fortune to solve it.” But in this case, he affirms that one of the keys was to add many seconds, which allowed him to go more comfortably when it came to solving the Rosco.

“There is a moment when I saw that I was silent for so long that I was seen as ‘say something'”, but really it was all due to a face of concentration, because, as he has pointed out, “90% of me thought that was”. And he was not wrong.
