Daniel Sancho has returned to Koh Samui prison after leaving Thursday morning to go to the Thai courts after the Prosecutor’s Office has delivered the final report on the case. Rodolfo Sancho’s son confessed to having murdered and dismembered Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta in Thailand. For this reason, he has been in jail since the beginning of August.
Although some details of the report have been revealed little by little, it has not been until now that the Let’s See program has exposed the most important points. The three crimes for which the accused will be tried are premeditated murder, concealment of the body and destruction of other people’s documentation.
Although the hearing was to have been held before the judge this Thursday, after the delivery of the documents, it had to be postponed due to Daniel Sancho’s refusal to continue due to not having a translator in person. “My visit will take place after November 13, because until we have a translator, they refuse to speak,” said the public defender.
This appearance had to be given to read the charges to the accused and give him the opportunity to accept or deny them. Something that has not been possible yet, but it is not surprising that you already know all its contents. Case 118/2566, the name they have given it, is now available to the media.
But this not only indicates the basis of guilt implicated in Daniel Sancho, but also the Prosecutor’s Office recounts the materials he used to commit the crime. 24 plastic bags of different sizes and colors, three rubber gloves, steel wool, sponges and rolls of film to wrap pallets are some of the utensils he needed to dispose of the body.
But the report also details the murder weapons. A “stainless steel metal handle pointed knife” and a “black handle sharp knife.”
Likewise, the document ensures that Daniel Sancho got rid of Edwin Arrieta’s passport. Something for which his charges have been increased. In addition, it is recorded in detail what the death of the Colombian surgeon would have been like.
“Daniel Sancho severely hit Edwin Arrieta many times. And it affected the deceased’s vital organs,” the program stated. Something that, according to the final report, would fall within article 289.4 of the Thai Penal Code, which imposes the death penalty for the accused.
