The case of Daniel Sancho is more present than ever in the national press. Rodolfo Sancho’s son is immersed in the trial sessions that will end up deciding his guilt, or not, in the murder and dismemberment of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta in Thailand.
During these first two weeks, witnesses have not stopped coming to the Koh Samui court to explain in detail what they saw or heard during the days in which the crime was committed. And it is exactly one of these that has given information that is in line with the accused’s defense strategy and that could change everything.
A forensic doctor, independent of the police, swore that the injuries suffered by the victim could be compatible with a fight. Something that would support the version of the detainee, who is betting on non-premeditation in the murder. “It is just as Daniel Sancho himself described in those confessions to the police,” said a reporter from Vamos a ver.
And Marcos García-Montes, Sancho’s lawyer, wanted to talk about this in the same program. “The most important thing we have to say is that there has been a catharsis. The forensic doctor, in conjunction with what we thought after reading the summary, has said what she has said,” he stated.
At these words, one of the collaborators did not hesitate to jump. “He has said that he is compatible,” he assured, making it very clear that it is not a decisive fact. Upon hearing this, García-Montes could not remain silent: “Do you want to sentence him to death?”
A statement that Patricia Pardo did not like at all. “Please don’t use that argument again. No, because in the end it is an attack on us. Of course, we don’t want anything more than for justice to be done,” she said, visibly upset by what had just happened.
And this tension on set is not the first time it has been experienced live. It seems that the presenter has decided not to ignore some of the lawyer’s statements. Several weeks ago, Pardo wanted to give his opinion on the case without being able to avoid García-Montes’ cuts. “Please let me talk for a second,” said Christian Gálvez’s wife, visibly fed up.
Such was the shock that the lawyer also repeated the same phrase several times: “Will you let me speak?” A confrontation that will surely continue to happen throughout the weeks when Marcos goes to the program Let’s see, since Patricia is clear that she does not plan to remain silent.
